Bored to Tears
There has been absolutely nothing going on here in the land of the morning calm. I take that back, Geoff is in the middle of a two week simulated exercise, where they are pretending to fight the North Korea. He says it's just like X-Box, but with thousands of people playing at once. He is working nights, so my schedule is all messed up too. I stay up super late, and sleep super late, and I can't stand it. I have started a new work out at the gym, lifting weights. Today was my first day, and those 8lb weights, kicked my butt. We have ultimately decided that we will not move into the apartment that we rented. We made this decision, simple because Geoff's work is not even 100 yards away. Plus, I really don't feel like furnishing the place. I have been knitting up a storm, and I am making very good progress on my socks.
I decided that I would try to understand a little more of the Korean language, so I bought these two books to help. I asked the Korean man at the book store if they were good, and he just looked at me and laughed. I know how to say 2 things in Korean, Good Morning, and thank you.
There version of good morning is good for good afternoon, and good evening also.
Good morning = An-nyong ha-say-yo
thank you = Kam-sa-ham-ni-da
I look at some of these words in the dictionary, and think to myself "why bother?". Plus I am sure the Koreans love to hear a southern drawl added to the pronunciation of ther language.
Until next time!

Hey Lacey. There is no way I could begin to pronounce that language. How do you say the consanants "ny" together? I bet it seems they say it really fast too. Clay would love to play "fight the army" with Geoff! That's right up his alley!Call me when you get bored and we'll catch up. I love you.
Hi Lacey,
Claire and I were impressed with your Korean. We'll practice the words too-ha! Ha! Well, that sounds nice for Geoff to be closer to work. I can't keep up with all ya'll's decision making. Claire and I are decorating for a Cheetah Girls party she's having tomorrow. I've been in charge of climbing on a chair and practically killing myself to hang up the streamers. She has coconut cups and pineapple straws to go with the decor. Are you still going to teach those Phillipine wives how to cook? We're counting down the days until we can see you at Christmas.
Lots of love,
Melissa and Claire
Hey Lacey
If I could talk Korean it would take me forever to speak a sentence. I sat here and said thank you and good morning over and over and I have to take to many breaths between syllables. My words come out being very choppy. I am proud of you for trying to learn some it. Maybe if you can learn Korean then you can learn Vietnamese and we can take you with us when get manicures and pedicures and you can tell us what they are saying about us. Cool.
Stay safe. I love you.
Aunt June
This morning on the Today Show's Style segment, it was all about wearing and layering knit! I just had to tell you about it. The girls modeled knit shrugs and hats that were so cute! One girl even wore a knit jacket thing that was long. They say that knit and layering is the hot trend for fall. Also, purple is the color for this fall. I can't wait to see what you create! Maybe you can knit us something and we can wear it with Jellies! That would be too cute! We're going to be way ahead of the trend and maybe even start a new trend! Love you.
Ashleys right about purple. Did you watch the Emmys? Most of the evening gowns were purple. One gown was velvet but I didn't see any that were knitted. Love, Aunt June
Didn't Katherine Heigel from Gray's Anatomy look so pretty at the Emmys??? She is beautiful. She just bought a new puppy from a breeder that goes to the church I work at. They are shipping it to LA when it is ready. Katherine is going to send a picture of herself with the puppy when she gets it. It is a poodle/schnauzer mix (Schnoodle). They are really cute!
HEY CUZ,
IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE YOU WROTE ON YOUR BLOG. MOM AND ASH ARE RIGHT ABOUT THE PURPLE BEING IN FOR FALL. YOU KNOW IT IS TOTALLY MY "COLOR". I WILL BE BEAUTIFUL THIS FALL. I HAVE BEEN PRACTICING MY KOREAN SO SEND ME SOME MORE WORDS SOON!!!!
LOVE YA,
APRIL
April is right...She and Aunt Sandee will be on top of the purple trend this Fall. Especially in the eye shadow department. They are going to be so beautiful. Aunt Sandee is April's sytle icon. Really, she is. April told me last week that she likes to do her make-up like Aunt Sandee. How are you Aunt Sandee? I haven't seen a comment from you in a while. Tell Charlie and Winston hello from me. Love you all! Lacey, catch us up!
Hey Lace!
You are hilarious. If you are bored, you know I need a cute sweater knitted like the green one you did. I will send you the yarn. I am glad Geoff is doing something he at least enjoys even if it is in the middle of the night(Which there is nothing wrong with being up all night). Tell Geoff I said "hey". I will talk to you this weekend, I am sure.
I love you.
Your sis!
